California truck accident leaves 1 dead and another injured

A truck accident occurred last week on a busy street in Valley Glen, California. Unfortunately, one man died and a woman suffered injuries in the accident that involved a garbage truck, a pickup and a car.

According to a news report, the truck accident occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m., on June 8 at Burbank and Laurel Canyon Boulevards in Valley Glen. Reportedly, the driver of the garbage truck ran a stoplight and collided with the pickup truck. The force of this collision drove the pickup into a Chevy Cobalt.

The driver of the pickup, “a man in his 30s,” was rushed to Sherman Oaks hospital. Unfortunately, the pickup driver died because of his injuries about an hour after the truck accident occurred. The female driver of the Chevy complained of chest pains and was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment where she was said to be in stable condition. The news article does not say whether the garbage truck driver suffered any injuries.

Images taken at the scene reveal horrific damage to both the pickup truck and the car. Reportedly, firefighters had to extricate two of the involved motorists from their vehicles. By contrast, the garbage truck appeared to suffer little damage.

While this truck accident appears to have been caused by gross negligence on the part of the garbage truck driver, victims of the accident would do well to seek a legal opinion. By speaking with a legal professional, these victims can receive authoritative advice about how best to move forward with any potential legal action against the driver or the waste management company.
