Pedestrian injured in Fremont car collision

One always has to keep eyes on the road in California, even when not driving. The density of car, trucks and buses on the streets and roads of the Golden State make it important to pay attention when one or more may get too close to a person.

Distracted drivers may ignore the needs of pedestrians and run off the road onto sidewalks or lawns, where people may be walking. It is more common that pedestrians are injured while attempting to cross the road, which exposes them to high-speed vehicles.

It is vital to avoid driving while using electronics or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, as this also avoids dangerous driving and the possibility of injury. Pedestrians struck by cars may risk permanent disability, long recovery times or even death under the worst circumstances.

An 18-year-old man from Fremont is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car in his hometown just after dark on a recent Monday evening. Fremont Police officers arrived at the scene to find the victim unconscious on the side of the road.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police reported that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be the cause and an investigation into the cause continues.

Pedestrian victims of car accidents have the right to sue for financial damages, including those related to medical expenses and other recovery costs. An attorney can help victims and their families determine the best civil legal results, from settlements to trial by jury, for the case in question.
